I just moved to forest grove from springfield, and just two years before that i lived in virginia. so I have that souther accent. so i know very little about the area and i do try to explore it when i can. I have been through a lot in the last few years, and those events have both helped and hindered me in shaping who I am now. I can say for sure I am fiercely loyal and caring, I live life by a a code of honor, I always try to help those who they need it, and try to be there for those I care about. I am also very fun loving, I enjoy going out to do things, especially taking walks and hiking, though I do not get to do so as often as I would like. Hello ladies! I am a taller, independent and interesting guy who is starting to hit his stride. I have a great career which has lead me to the opportunity to buy my first house recently, and am busy spending Obama's money on furniture. I'm an optimistic, worldly guy who likes to get the most out of life! I enjoy hiking, reading, working out, movies, thinking, talking, laughing hard, stargazing, and a wide variety of musical genres. A brief interlude for my extremely condensed resume. I've a formal background in physics, electrical engineering, and math, and I have a Ph.D. in condensed matter physics from Cornell University. I joined the ranks of Intel's research and development labs in Hillsboro (outside Portland), where I am working as a process researcher/engineer. The job is a lot of work, but it has its rewards and benefits.

I like enjoy messing around with toys in my spare time (electronics, radios, etc.). I've been working on my living arrangements for quite a while now, cutting, hammering, sawing, painting, re-arranging, cleaning, building, and lifting. At some point I'll be moderately satisfied enough to take a break from that effort. I also have a strong interest in philosophy, and the "larger picture" of life. However, I'm not religious at all. Politically speaking, I am strongly libertarian.

I believe that the biggest problem humanity is the problem of senescence (growing old and dying). Unlike most people, I do not believe that aging and death are inevitable, and I want to use my life, in part, to work on a scientific or technical solution to the aging problem (or at least part of it). From a research and academic perspective, I believe that senescence does not receive the attention it deserves. It is the "disease" that everyone has, yet everyone thinks is "normal". I don't take that assumption so lightly.

I'd really like to find someone to come home to every day, but I'm willing to work up to that point. I'm a fairly stable, hard-working, attractive, and intellectual person, and I'd like to find someone with similar characteristics and values.

You'll usually find me entertaining myself in some way or another. Playing a game(s), making graphs or charts, turning random objects into space ships. It doesn't take much to keep me entertained as I can easily turn any situation into a fun experience (at least for me).

I just heard that Sara Barellis song "Many the Miles" for the first time recently and I really, really liked it. I canâ??t believe I hadnâ??t heard it before...

Music moves me. Sometimes a song and lyric can strike me in a way as to move me to tears. Or make me so happy I canâ??t stop smiling. That was one of those songs.

I can be pee-your-pants funny sometimes. That is if we share the same sense of humor. Iâ??ve read a lot of profiles where the woman will say "make me laugh". Thatâ??s cool... but how about we make each other laugh?

I do have 2 kids, son in 8th grade and daughter in 5th. They have activities that keep me busy at times. They live with me every other week. My top priority in life is to be a good dad to them.

You know what I want to do? Well, I was at this wine bar a couple of weeks ago that had a salsa band playing. It was a great fun time. There were these couples salsa dancing and I thought to myself "Man, that is sexy - I want to learn to do that!"
